High-corrosion Resistance Trivalent Chrome Blue Passivation Process

 

Properties

• Trivalent chrome passivator process without hexavalent and oxidizer, got SGS international certification

• Exceeds the requirements for hexavalent blue passivator according DIN 50 021 SS, the maximum value of neutral salt spray test (NSS) can reach 72 hours.

• Produce a coating with clear, bright, white-blue color.

• A very economical product.

• Reduce the cost of disposing waste water due to trivalent solution, satisfy the environmental requirements for prohibiting hexavalent chrome passivator layer.

• Long service life, especially if recycle of rinse-water.

• Comply with American GME00252 and GMW-3044.

Note:  The performance of this process very much depends on pH value of working solution. Please use proper pH-meter to measure the pH value under stated temperature. Adjust pH value to the operation range, usually use 0.51.0 ml/L nitric acid or 10% NaOH solution, sometimes, adding 10% Na2CO3 solution is useful to increase pH value.

Tank material: steel with heat resistant and acid resistant plastic inner.

Heating: necessary, use acid resistance material(e.g. Teflon, glass) outside heating equipments.  

Agitation: rack moving or low-pressure air agitation.

Consumption: For each liter of dragged out solution, please add 192 ml of TR-136 concentrate.

Hints: As last step before the passivation we recommend an acid dip in 0.5ml/L nitric acid, especially for parts plated in alkaline zinc process.

After-treatment: After passivation and thoroughly clean, the work pieces should be dried under temperature of 80-100 for 5-10 minutes, use centrifugal dryer or hot air oven, until turn to the required appearance.
